RELATIONAL THERAPY | LONGMONT, COLORADO

We are Inherently Relational Beings

Relationships can bring closeness, joy, and a sense of belonging. They can also bring confusion, tension, or the feeling that you keep ending up in the same painful patterns. You may find yourself pulling away, working hard to keep the peace, or struggling to feel understood—even with people you care about.

Relational therapy offers a thoughtful space to explore how you connect with others and how those patterns may have taken shape. Together, we can make room for curiosity and self-understanding, without judgment or blame. Our work can help you recognize what happens in your relationships, understand what you need, and find ways of relating that feel more genuine and supportive.

The ways we relate to others are shaped by many experiences—our early relationships, the environments we grew up in, and the ways we learned to seek closeness or protect ourselves. Those patterns may have helped us get through difficult moments, even if they no longer feel helpful.

In therapy, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore what you’re experiencing in your relationships and what may be happening beneath the surface. We’ll make room for your perspective while gently noticing recurring patterns, needs, and hopes for connection.

You don’t need to know exactly where to begin. We can take time to understand what feels important to you and move at a pace that feels comfortable. The goal isn’t to judge your past or assign blame—it’s to help you better understand yourself and create more room for choice in how you relate.

What is Relational Therapy?

Relational therapy focuses on the ways our relationships shape our sense of ourselves and our experiences of the world.

The relationship we build in therapy can also offer a place to notice what it’s like to be heard, understood, and met with care.

Common Reasons People Seek Relational Therapy

A Space for Understanding and Connection:

Relational counseling goes beyond understanding your relationships.

It’s the beginning of experiencing them differently. I help you untangle patterns, make room for what matters, and explore new ways of connecting:

  • Noticing Patterns with Curiosity: Together, we pay attention to moments when you feel disconnected, misunderstood, overwhelmed, or unsure how to respond—without judging or rushing to change them.

  • Connecting Past and Present: We explore how earlier experiences may shape the way you approach closeness, conflict, trust, and boundaries today.

  • Making Room for Your Needs: Our work will help you get clearer about what matters to you and find ways to express it with care.

  • Exploring New Ways of Relating: I’ll encourage you to consider what you want connection to look like and make space to try new possibilities at a pace that feels right for you.

  • Building Trust Together: Our relationship is part of the work. You can bring questions, share feedback, and experience a respectful, collaborative connection.
